NASHVILLE, TN – Monkee, pop icon, and consummate entertainer Davy Jones brings comfort and joy to fans around the world with a new holiday record, It’s Christmas Time Once More, available today. Listen HERE.

It’s Christmas Time Once More is a Monkees’ creative family reunion with personal ties, rock legends, popular culture, and Laurel Canyon charm.

Jones’ original vocals are enhanced with new arrangements and guest vocals from Jones’ youngest daughter, singer/songwriter Annabel Jones, former Monkees bandmate Micky Dolenz, Dolenz sister and studio doyenne Coco Dolenz, and legendary rock ‘n’ roll photographer Henry Diltz.

“Singing with my Dad on this record was an extremely beautiful and healing experience,” said Annabel Jones, who joined her father on several songs including the sweetly tender “White Christmas.” “What a gift to be able to share a moment like this!”

Annabel shared precious family photos of her late father, who died on Feb. 29, 2012, exclusively with People. See them HERE.

Noted producer Chip Douglas recorded the original versions of these Christmas classics with Jones when they were released in 1991 on cassette tape as It’s Christmas Time Again and he reimagined them for a contemporary, global audience with fresh versions of 11 cuts and two bonus tracks.

“This was a rare chance to remix and enhance these recordings by adding the lovely voice of Davy’s daughter Annabel, who’s heartwarming vocals on ‘White Christmas’ and ‘Silent Night’ were well above and beyond my expectations,” Douglas enthused. “Micky and Coco Dolenz beautifully enhanced ‘God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen,’ and Henry Diltz – and other friends – added just the right gusto to ‘Hark The Herald Angels Sing.’”

The record was inspired by a 1967 demo of “White Christmas” with Douglas on guitar and Jones singing in the basement of Douglas’ Laurel Canyon home during the area’s artistic emergence. The stripped down, original demo and guitar vocals are included as bonus tracks on It’s Christmas Time Once More.

Douglas produced Jones’ smash “Daydream Believer” as well as the Monkees’ third studio album, Headquarters, which featured the band playing their own music for the first time. For It’s Christmas Time Once More, he reunited with another Laurel Canyon fixture Henry Diltz, who contributed background vocals to early Monkees records.

Diltz and Douglas were once bandmates in Modern Folk Quartet before Diltz became a sought-after rock photographer. In addition to shooting more than 200 album covers, Diltz provided the image of Jones dressed in a Santa suit for It’s Christmas Time Once More.

“I remember spending a day in the desert with The Monkees while they filmed a Kool-Aid  commercial in the late ’60s,” Diltz recalled. “Various friends of the guys came along to help brighten up the downtime shots. I remember Davy wasn’t happy in the Santa suit in the hot sun. Anything for showbiz!”
